Sunflower Husk Pellet Machine
Nowadays, in many areas, a large number of waste sunflower husks are produced from the process of sunflower seed oil production and the processing of sunflower seeds. The disposal of waste sunflower husks has become an annoying problem. However, due to its low ash content and high calorific value, sunflower husk actually is a kind of biomass fuel which can be used as biomass resource. Is it available to be processed into pellets? Yes! Excess waste sunflower husks are being processed into pellets which are highly demanded in the European countries. Therefore, the waste problem can be solved only with a sunflower husk pellet mill, with which you can easily transfer the useless sunflower husk to bio-fuel pellets now.
Sunflower Husk Pellet Mill
Sunflower husk pellet mill developed by our company adopts flat die design. Compact structure, less area occupation, and competitive price. These superior characteristics make the sunflower husk pellet press machine become the optimal choice for individuals at home or small-scale pellet plant. The following are two sunflower husk pellet mills, one is driven by electric motor, the other is diesel engine.
Model | Power | Engine | Wood pellet capacity | Feed pellet capacity | Dimension |
WHIR-200 | 7 .5kw | Electric motor | 110-140kg/h | 200-300kg/h | 1000*430*950mm |
WHIR-200A | 15HP | Diesel engine | 110-140kg/h | 200-300kg/h | 1180*560*950mm |

How the Sunflower Husk Pellets are Made?
The sunflower husk has uniform size about 1-3 cm, so they should be grinded into powder by a small wood hammer mill before pelletizing. When the sunflower husk pellet mill works, the crushed materials will be fed into the hopper of pellet mill for pelletizing. In this way, sunflower husk are compressed into cylindrical pellets.
Sunflower Husk Pellets VS Sunflower Husk
Material | Average diameter | Ash content | Average density | Moisture content | Calorific value |
Sunflower Husk | 8.4-10mm | 2%-2.13% | 0.41g/cm3 | 8%-13% | 3.88-4.22MJ/kg |
Sunflower Husk Pellet | 6.0-8.0mm | 0.49%-1.5% | 1-1.4g/cm3 | 7.64%-8% | 4.5-18MJ/kg |
Advantages of the Sunflower Husk Pellets
> Sunflower husk pellets have high-index power concentration. The lowest calorific value of pellet is 4.3-4.5 MJ/kg, this figure is comparable with coal and 1.6 times higher than that of wood.
> Safe and environmental friendly. With uniform size and shape, the fuel pellets burn more efficient and less smoke is released during its burning.
> The cost is relatively low, compared to coal, fuel oil, and gas.
> It is possible to automate the process of combustion owing to the design features of the ovens.
Storage Requirements
The final products should be stored in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse, protected from direct sunlight, heat sources and humidity, pest controlled.
