Rice Straw Pellet Machine

Straw is a by-product of crops harvest, an increasing number of farmers are seeing the value of recycling straws as a revenue source. Straw is very common all over the world, especially in the countryside. Plenty of straw wastes will be generated at the harvest time of crops. Originally, straw materials are used for animal feeding or paper making industry. Recently, a new beneficial way of straw process is getting more and more popular – straw pelletizing.
Characteristic of Different Kinds of Straws

Materials Moisture content Ash content Calorific value
Rice straw 15-30% 15-20% 13.98 MJ/kg
Wheat straw 20-40% 8-9% 14.4 MJ/kg
Corn straw 20-27% 8% 15.68 MJ/kg

Straw can be compressed into pellets as fuel for heating and cooking at home or as animal bedding. With a straw pellet mill, everyone can easily make straw fuel pellets at home. Compared with wood pellets, straw pellets are much cheaper. Let’s take rice straw as an example.

Characteristics of Rice Straw Pellets as Fuel

Calorific value 18.1MJ/kg Carbon 47.71%
Combustion heat 19.8MJ/kg Hydrogen 6.72%
Moisture content 8.0% Nitrogen 1.0%
Ash content 7.0% Sulphur 0
Specific gravity 1.0Kg/dm3 Chlorine 0.72%

Note: Rice straw pellets, as an energy fuel, contain a relatively high amount of volatile ingredients, which makes this kind of fuel burn very effectively.
Why Choose Rice Straw Pellets as Animal Bedding?

1. 100% natural straw.
2. Heat treated – natural smell & allergens are removed.
3. Super fast absorbency – 3.15 times its weight, 50% greater than wood pellets.
4. Dust free, soft, springy and non-slip surface.
5. Safer than soft woods – do not emit harmful phenols and no respiratory irritation.
6. Environmentally friendly and convenient to use – less time needed for clean.
Advantages of Rice Straw Pellets over Rice Straw
1. Lower risk of mould and dust during storage.
2. Prevent infections and better effect on bacteria control.
3. Cost-effective, the consumption in kilos decreases due to their high absorbency.
4. Keep horse’s hooves cool, undisturbed by urine-soaked straw.
5. Require less storage space and less effort to muck out stables.
Rice Straw Pellet Mill
If you own rice straws in the farm, it is a good time to think over our rice straw pellet making machine. You just need to buy a straw pelletizer, then you can start to make pellets from straws. You can not only produce straw pellets for home heating, cooking, and horse bedding, but sell them directly to other people (such as your neighbors or horse keepers) with amazing profits.

How to Make Rice Straw Pellets by Straw Pellet Mill?
raw materials receiving & impurity removing
It is important to separate the impurities from rice straw in case of the damage to pellet machine.

Step2: rice straw grinding
Rice straw is a kind of relatively soft raw material, and its diameter is less than 50mm, so the wood hammer mill is the best choice. Before processing, straw should be grinded into powder with the diameter of less 3mm, which is the optimal size for pelletizing.
Step3: crushed rice straw drying
In general, rice straw is relative dry, so it is unnecessary to dry the materials. Whereas, if the moisture content of the rice straw is higher than 15%, you should choose air-dry or a dryer machine according to your situation.
pelletizing by rice straw pellet machine
This is the most important step. Just purchase a rice straw pellet mill, we will supply professional guidance.
final pellets cooling
Cooling the final pellets prior to packing and handling, which is conductive to maintain the quality of rice straw pellets.
